The most beautiful sights are not at the water's edge, but up inland:

 

Marina Alta for vineyards and olive groves between Moraira and Benissa.

 

Further on, for the more intrepid, lie the mountains. So high, that it snows there some winters. Steep roads and breathtaking views.

 

In places, it feels like you're in the Pyrenees. What's certain is that it's a legendary stage of the Tour of Spain.
